“Blowing sacra snow” is the most beautiful picture we should imagine. When the cherry blossom is in full flower, we have been inspired by the impressive scenery. With P Lawyer of Taipei Gardens and CP Peter’s taking responsibility, the team leader P Martin of 10th sub-district has made the dream of “founding a new club in one hundred day” come true. Congratulations for successfully mailing out the application form of Rotary E-Club of Taipei Light Up on May 27th. No doubt, this is a perfect model of “Make impossible possible” and an uplifting news for all the processing new clubs. Before end of this Rotary year, we still try to make history instead of waiting for closure. We try to make RIP Gary proud when he speaks out loud about D3480 on the international stages. In May, we’ve founded “E-Club of Glory East” and “Taipei Formosa Victory”, and 5 Provisional Rotary E-Clubs of “Taipei Fu-Hi” “Taipei Long Shine” “Taipei All Star” “E-club of Taipei Great Infinity” and “E-club of Taipei Light Up”. Ever more, the first Korean club outsides of Korea is arranged and CHO Baeksang, the epresentative of Korean Mission in Taipei, will take up the position of the honorably consultant. Diversity, one of the 5 core value, has been stepped up for D3480. Our “Thirty is for a firm foundation” goal of 15 new clubs and 15 satellite clubs will be completed, even beyond, before end of our year. We’re the best class!
June is Rotary Fellowship month. One is to encourage Rotarians to join international convention to promote fellowship. To respond to RIP Gary’s appeal, D3480 will have up to 300 members to attend Sant Paulo Convention, for supporting, for fellowship, and for “Light up Rotary” graduation trip. The other is to remind Rotarians to widen service opportunity through fellowship. For Nepal earthquake relief, not only D3480 arranged resources from all clubs, but also clubs and every Rotarian international organization groups devoted to support. D3480 RFE team visited Hawaii D5000 to promote goodwill friendship and peace. My team visited sisterhood district D3640 and been touched that DG ChoJung Ho picked us up himself in the airport. Including sisterhood welcome party, I was invited to give speeches for 3 times. We’re impressed by their highest level of friendly accommodation. RIPR Sangkoo who just visited our district conference in April invited all team to visit his home, the full view of high society and political-commercial Rotarian world. He treated us lunch and all team felt pleasure. We visited DMZ peace park and planted apple trees for environmental and peaceful manner. Friendship between 2 districts and 2 countries has been strengthened in every way, and settled the base for the new Korean club foundation. Counseling by Rotary club of Taipei, Rotary Club of Shanghai West had its charter night on May 21th. As district governor of relative district, I switched my schedule to witness the charter ceremony of the first Mandarin spoken club in China. This seed force of Taiwanese entrepreneurs leading by PP Richard of Rotary club of Taipei will create some waves and we hope Rotary will carry on with more strength in China. Rotary club of Yungfu in D3480 led a team with some clubs to join this historic moment and practice our Rotarian fellowship manner.
June is the month to appreciate. After coming back from Sant Paulo Convention, long with charter ceremonies one after another, we will hold the last president-secretary and thanksgiving ceremony. We appreciate our best class team of 2014-15 “Light Up Rotary” big family. With our revolutionary feelings and friendship, even the curtain is falling, our melody will never end.
